Atlas’ Story

Atlas is one of the 4 newest residents of Mission: Wolf. This bold young wolfdog was named for the Titan of Greek mythology who held up the heavens above. Atlas has already endured much and shouldered more burdens than any puppy should ever need to, and yet come out the other side as an incredibly happy pup.

Atlas was abandoned on the streets of a small California town and later found by rescuers scavenging for food with other dumped puppies. Atlas was extremely weak and emaciated, but luckily was still able to move under his own power. He was quickly taken to a devoted foster to join his packmate Lyra. The two spent the next couple of weeks eating and recovering their strength along with their other two adopted siblings Spirit and Wylder. Atlas then made the journey to Mission: Wolf and enjoyed the adventure alongside his packmates.

When Atlas was first rescued, he was just 24 pounds. At 7 months old, a normal wolf puppy of his age should weigh 70-90 pounds. While Atlas has a lot of catching up to do, he loves to eat, and we are happy to say he is thriving! Atlas is about half wolf and half dog and is an easygoing and happy pup. He loves meeting new human friends and is very gentle upon greeting. Atlas also loves playing with his adopted siblings, and going for leashed walks to explore his surroundings.

Atlas’ goofy and sweet nature never fails to bring a smile to the face of all he meets.
