Cisco’s Story

Cisco was a feral grade yearling colt who came to us with an injured leg. Not knowing the extent of the injury, we called the vet for x-rays. The prognosis was bad: a broken bone. Cisco’s eyes were so full of life, that we could not bring ourselves to immediately put him down. With optimism we began to rehabilitate him with homemade splints and together we worked for several months to help him heal. We did have improvements, enough to get us excited that he was healing. Our excitement turned to pain when abscesses got worse, and Cisco passed on.
