Mayday! Spring Snow Day
Over a foot of snow blessed the wolf ravine on Tuesday this week. It came down fast, wet, and hard which had staff scrambling to cover outside garden beds, put tools away, gather shovels, and start fires in wood stoves to keep buildings (and ourselves) warm enough.
Have you ever had cold and wet feet for a whole day? A couple of us have now!

The wolves seemed to have plenty of fun romping around and staff spent time keeping them safe by walking (postholing...) around to clear enclosures of the hanging, heavy snow building up on their fences. You can see the before and after effect in the pictures below.
We’re so happy for the moisture and what it means for the surrounding valley. The creek running through the wolf ravine may even run for a day or two. We’re excited to see happy plants, flowers, animals, and insects in the coming weeks. Even in lingering soggy boots, we’ll be cheering on Spring with them.
