Hello and howls of gratitude from the wolf ravine at Mission: Wolf!

First—here’s a fun video of five-year-old Ydun scent rolling after staff left a couple squirts of rabbit urine on the ground for enrichment. Not our idea of fun as humans but she sure seems to enjoy it! If she were in the wild, she’d probably go show off her new smell to all her packmates. Wolf “storytelling”..

And welcome to the wolves’ official blog: Of Wolves and People—an homage to the great work of writing, Of Wolves and Men, by Barry Lopez.

Looking ahead we hope this can be a place to share fun and educational content about the animals of M:W, ongoing snapshots of life at the refuge, community announcements, future event information, and anything else that makes sense to share online with our loving community of supporters (you!).

We know so many of you can’t visit the wolves in person…so our hope through Of Wolves and People is to create space for you to still feel included.

We appreciate each and every one of you, near and far, and want to make sure you know it.
