Spirit’s Story

Spirit is one of the newest 4 residents of Mission: Wolf and arrived at the sanctuary in August 2024.

This little wolfdog was named for his sheer will to live.

Before he was rescued, Spirit was abandoned as part of a mass animal dumping situation and found by rescuers lying semi-conscious on the street. He was so emaciated and weak that he was unable to lift his head. Many doubted that he would live, but after an immediate emergency vet visit where he received fluids, he managed to move just a little bit.

Over the next two weeks, his devoted rescuers worked tirelessly to nourish him and incredibly, he began to recover and was able to make the trip to Mission: Wolf.

As we get to know him better, Spirit’s name seems even more appropriate; This tiny little wolfdog truly embodies the spirit of a wolf. He is fiercely intelligent, adventurous, pack-oriented, and skeptical of new people but very curious too.

Spirit has already begun forming bonds with the staff and adores his 3 adoptive siblings Lyra, Atlas, and Wylder. He is gaining confidence with time and will even walk up to sniff some lucky visitors. Watching him develop and begin to enjoy the new world around him is wonderful to see and we look forward to watching his continued growth.
