Zeab’s Story
Zeab was born at Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Florida. He and his sister Farah were in need of a quality home, so Mission: Wolf received a call to take in the two pups. Like Mission: Wolf, Seacrest is dedicated to furthering wolf conservation. They donated the siblings with hopes that they could join our Ambassador Wolf program, and help educate people about how important wolves are to the environment.
Zeab and his sister Farah were hand raised by the staff with the help of two wolf-dogs, Leo and Luna. Four weeks after Zeab arrived, Mission: Wolf took in another pup named Apollo. Zeab was elated to have a new pup to play with and chew on. The three pups spent the summer together and inspired many visitors with their playful antics. At the end of the summer, Zeab and his two siblings met our adult Ambassador wolves, Magpie and Abraham, who quickly adopted the three. They had one of the largest enclosures and were able to run through the trees, hide in dens and enjoy attention from many visitors.
The five of them lived together until the summer of 2012, when Farah began challenging Magpie and Apollo began challenging Abe. We removed the two of them and gave them their own enclosure. Zeab, showing no signs of wanted to leave the Ambassador pack, remained with Magpie and Abe.
In 2013, the Ambassadors adopted two new pups, Tiger and Rosie. Zeab became the fun loving uncle that the pups loved to jump at and chew on. Even when Tiger was almost as big as his uncle, Zeab patiently tolerated his puppy antics. He was just as gentle with the pups as he is with human visitors. In 2014, Tiger and Rosie were moved to their own enclosure, and Zeab went back to being the youngest of the Ambassador pack until June of 2017. It was then that he reprised his role as understanding, patient uncle to two new mischievous pups, Saurya and Nashira, who love to roughhouse with uncle Zeab. A few months later was given her own space but Nashira was happy to stay with uncle Zeab. In 2019, Zeab and Nashira were asked to raise the young pup Ydun. They helped raise her until the summer of 2021 when Ydun became more independent and was moved to her own enclosure. The two continued on as the lead ambassador pair until early 2023 when Nashira challenged Zeab and demanded her own space. Zaeb has since been paired with Rosie, and both seem happy to be reunited.
